CLOSET ORGANIZATION

Friday, 30 May 2014
I've lived downtown a huge part of my life and I know the pros and cons. You may disagree with me based on your personal preferences but I love the city life. I can't emphasis enough how convenient it is. On the other hand, space is very limited. If you live in a standard size apartment downtown, your closet may look like this:

Most of us, look at this space and ask ourselves, "How much can I fit in there?", well truth is, if you know how to maximize your space and use organization as a tool, you'd be surprise. If your not planning to settle in your apartment for a reasonable amount of time, I wouldn't recommend putting so much time and money into designing your closet, but if you are, let me show you different systems and designing ideas to transform your closet.

With a little help and inspiration, you closet can look like this:

By adding the Crystal Clear 24 Pocket Over-The-Door Vinyl Shoe Organizer you are maximizing your shoe storage. This also gives a better visual on all your shoes.

Installing the STOLMEN wardrobe system (which can be purchased at Ikea) is an easy way to add shelving. The wardrobe system comes in a variety and is useful for multiple organization systems. I choose this one based on the closet size above. **Note**Installation is very simple.

For better organization, use boxes and bins for small accessories such as: socks, hats, seasonal wear, etc.

If you want to keep it to a low budget, go for the SKUBB clothes organizers. You can hang them directly to the hanger poll which is already installed in your closet. It's affordable, fresh and still do the job.

Keep in mind, to create a fresh look for your closet, you must have a colour coordination.

I have been wanting to experiment with closet design for a while now. During this period I had many inspirations and ideas from different sources that I wanted to try. Leave your comments and let me know what you think with these different ideas.
